GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS BOAT AREA

In case you wish to rent a spot for your boat, you need to prove as a renter with a sailing certificate that you can safely sail at sea.

The boat area will be assigned by Surfing Elephant. This area will be fenced off with sand-trap fences. You are responsible for securing your own boat by means of a rope tied to a car tyre dug into the sand. You can ask Surfing Elephant's help for that.

The club cannot be held liable for potential damage to your boat due to storm, vandalism or theft.

Period

The boat area is available as of the first day of the Easter holidays until October 15th. Outside that period, boats are not allowed to be stored on the beach.

Transport

You can make an appointment with our sports manager to have your boat transported from the promenade to the beach at the start of the season and vice versa at the end of the season. Your boat needs to be sand free and dismantled for transport.

During the season we will take your boat to the shore within our means, only during the opening hours of the surf club. We will do our utmost to help you as quickly as possible.

Please take into account that during busy times you might have to wait about 30 minutes before someone can take your boat to the shore with the quad. In case you want to be sure, you can always call or mail us upfront.

Winter storage

In case you opted for winter storage with us, we will take care of the transport to and from the beach. You do need to make sure the boat is sand free and dismantled for transport. We will contact you in time at the end of each season. The winter storage is from October 15th until March 15th.

BE AWARE! Sail boxes must not weigh more than 25 kg at the time of transport by us and should be foreseen with decent handles. In case the sail box is to heavy, it will remain where it is. An additional cost will be charged when the box is to be transported at a later stage.

Rescue & security

When sailing you always need to report it in the log book. After sailing you need to log off as well.

Enter the water in the marked zone. Respect the priority rules. You need to be in order with all the necessary safety equipment on your boat. Always take a mobile phone when you sail with the necessary contact numbers and emergency numbers. We are always reachable when the surf club is open. Outside opening hours and in case of emergency you need to call the MRCC (+32 59 70 10 00). We have a jetski to perform rescue interventions at sea.

Maintenance

In case you want to rinse your boat, you can ask our beach master for help. He or she will provide you with a hose.

We fence off the area for your boat. However, you are responsible for keeping your own boat sand free.
